Temporary Camp Wall
The temporary camp within the main camp is surrounded by T-wall, pre formed concrete blocks that slot together and are free standing although because of the shape they support each other by the way they slot together. Within this wall will be the accomodation, offices etc.
Guard towers
Walls nearly complete
The walls that surround the camp are nearly complete and the posts for the perimeter fence are in place with barbed wire being put in place on the top.

Temporary Camp
The temporary camp is slowly taking shape. The trailers that you can see in the photo with six doors are accommodation trailers, they are the ones that we will be living in when we move to site. Most of the workers sleep in tents and some have rooms which double as a bed room as well as their workspace.
Easter Treats
We were told on Saturday not to come into work on Sunday as it was Easter and we were all invited to attend an Easter dinner in our welfare building. On the menu we had roast beef and roast chicken with carrots, mashed and roasted potatoes, cauliflower cheese, stuffing, Yorkshire puddings and gravy. To follow we had Vanilla and I think Strawberry ice cream with various Chocolate truffles and also hot cross buns. Scattered around the tables were chocolate bunnies and egg halves made from solid chocolate of which many did not get eaten, I have become custodian of these fine treats. The dinner was enjoyed by all and the watching of sport via satellite, playing of pool and drinking went on into the night.

Mahmoods shop arowd the corner
There is a shop here, on the corner, just a few cabins away from the one I'm in. It's Mahmoods shop arowd the corner. He sells chocolate, Snickers, Mars bars for $1 each. He also has cans of pop, toiletries, electronic goods, cigarettes and DVDs. The DVDs are dodgy copies that sell for $2 each and probably makes up for the bulk of the trade he does along with cigarettes. The electronic goods tend to be headphones, Portable DVD players, memory cards, memory sticks and various leads, controllers, cases for electronic goods. Next door there is a barbers where you can get your hair cut but i'm not sure how much it is as I have not tried it yet.
